Interesting Steven! To add another twist to this, twitter and many other social media sites are changing the sports business in many ways. Just as we're seeing with brands, athletes are becoming their own media outlets.

I like how Mark Kreidler put it in this piece for ESPN: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/commentary/news/story?id=5315529

"Shaquille O'Neal has almost 3 million followers on Twitter. He doesn't need the "media" to break news."

The more power and reach athletes are having, the more impact their comments, actions and opinions are having on their teams, coaches and even owners.

Interesting stuff!
