It goes without saying that companies are going to be more frugal. Any new project will need to show immediate productivity/efficiency gains and/or that it will save a company money.  

Forrester has revised its previous predictions on IT spending after initially predicting in August a 6.1% growth in U.S. purchases of IT goods/services. It's now predicting that spending growth in 2009 will be just 1.6%, compared to 4.1% growth in 2008. 

That's huge. A nearly 4.5% reduction in their projections in just four months.</description>
